Kollam: A team of KSEB employees have left for Odisha to help state get back on the grid after cyclone Fani’s devastation. A 36-member team left as instructed by state government and state disaster management authority.

The team comprising 5 overseers, 23 linemen and 8 electricity workers left in Vivek Express at 1.45pm yesterday. Odisha incurred a loss of Rs 1,500 crore in electrical department alone.

This is the sixth KSEB team from state. They will work under a deputy chief engineer. The team will work for 10 days on domestic and railway power lines.

A KSEB team had carried out commendable service in Tamil Nadu after Cyclone Gaja hit in November 2018.
