Kollam: Adarsh Harish is an unlikely ‘Mr Kerala’. The Kollam native won the honour in the differently-abled category at the state bodybuilding championship held at Durbar Hall ground in Ernakulam recently. For Adarsh, who received the winner’s band, trophy and certificate amid huge applause, the title was the result of grit, determination and perseverance.
Adarsh was the ‘Mr Kollam’ in the differently-abled category during the last couple of years. He had contested in the state event last year also, but failed make an impact. However, this time, he put in hard work, which paid off handsomely.
Adarsh is now a second year BA English student at Fatima Mata National College, Kollam. He had trained at Smart fitness centre at College junction to overcome his physical handicap to reach the pinnacle. In his efforts, the youngster had the full support of his parents, siblings and teachers and friends in college. While his father is a businessman, his mother runs a lab. Adarsh has two siblings, Abhilash and Divya, both of whom are students.
