Thodupuzha: A Hindu man who died in a relief camp for flood-affected people has been buried at the St Anne's Church cemetery at Pallivasal in Idukki district.

Subramanian, 65, a resident of Chithirapuram, died after he was shifted to the Government High School camp after his locality was inundated.

Fr Shinto Velliparambil, vicar at St Anne's Church, visited the camp on Saturday morning and found that Subramanian's family was not able to bury him as there was no place for that. Fr Shinto then spoke to Vijayapuram Diocesan vicar general Fr Dr Justine Madathiparambil who granted permission to burials at the cemetery for those who were finding it hard to arrange a place amid the flood chaos.

Subramanian was buried at the church cemetery on Saturday afternoon.
