Alappuzha: Telugu superstar Allu Arjun will rebuild 10 anganwadis destroyed in the recent floods in Kerala. He has kept aside Rs 21 lakh from the proceeds of the Malayalam rights sale of his film 'Geetha Govindam'. The film, produced by his father Allu Aravind and a friend, had turned out to be one of the biggest hits in Tollywood this year.
Allu Arjun will be adopting the anganwadis through ‘I am For Alleppey’ rehabilitation project. When he had come as chief guest at the Nehru Trophy boat race recently, Allu Arjun had told sub-collector V R Krishna Teja that he would support the rehabilitation works.
Krishna Teja said that they will decide the 10 anganwadis within a week and the works will begin in January. In the monsoon floods, about 31 anganwadis were completely destroyed and 66 partially damaged in the district.
