Kochi: The Young Entrepreneurs Summit 2017 in Kochi turned a showcase of ideas. One of them was particularly catchy.
A start-up from Alappuzha came to Kochi to present the prototype of an artificial skin that could mean the world for victims of burns. The product from Polyskin company could help persons with even 50 percent burns to recover faster.
The artificial skin is laden with medicines that heal the burns quickly. The company has also developed artificial skin cells to heal the wounds of diabetes patients.
The company is driven by Dr Rajmohan of the National Institute of Immunology in Delhi. Scientists R S Santosh and Rajan Gregory said that the company’s products were based on bioengineering. The products could be a game changer if commercialized, they said.
