Gopi Sundar, the musician behind several hit songs in Malayalam and Telugu, has become the first owner of BMW X7 in India.
The largest SUV ever built by BMW,was purchased by the music composer from the company's Kochi showroom. The car described as a sports activity vehicle by BMW, the X7, has two variants - xDrive30d and xDrive40i. Both the variants carry a similar price tag - ex-showroom price of Rs 98.90 lakh. It is not clear which model Gopi Sundar bought.
The xDrive40i is powered by a 3-litre turbo petrol engine that churns out 340 bhp of power and 450 Nm of torque, while the xDrive30d has a 3-litre diesel engine that can produce 265 bhp of power and 620 Nm of torque. Both the engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The main attraction in the front are the big kidney grilles and small LED headlamps. The sculpted bonnet and beefier wheel arches provide a muscular look to the SUV.
The 3,105 mm long wheelbase gives enough room for three-row seating with six or seven-passenger configurations. Luxury features include 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrumental cluster, five-zone climate control, three-piece glass sunroof, and park assist, among others. The X7 scores equally high in all key departments - luxury, safety and driving comfort.
