Hundreds of incidents of social media abuse and sexual harassment happen online every day around the world, with young women being the prime victims, but most cases go unrecgonised.

However, kudos to this brave girl for exposing and shaming her abuser.

The incident came to light after Aishwarya Sharma posted the screenshots of her conversation on Facebook Messenger with a man on her 'friends' list.

The man started sending her sleazy and vile texts, and continued his advances despite being told that she detests his behaviour... but obviosuly you cannot reason with such people.

Finally, Aishwarya reminded him that they had seven mutual friends and said she was going to expose him.

The man, who by now sensed danger and had nowhere to go, tried to play the apology card twice but Aishwarya was having none of it.

And soon after she posted the status with screenshots of the conversation and a link to his Facebook page, the man came up with a lame excuse - his account was hacked and it was someone else who sent her those messages.

Hats off to Aishwarya for exposing and shaming her abuser. We sincerely hope social media abusers will take a lesson from this incident.
