Chikungunya is a mosquito-borne viral disease. The virus is transmitted through female mosquitoes. There are two species of mosquitoes that are involved in spreading Chikungunya - Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus.

» Use mosquito repellents and mosquito nets to protect yourselves.
» Mosquito coils or other insecticide vaporizers may also reduce indoor biting. You could use them if you are not allergic to the fragrance.
