Kochi: The Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) has suspended the Kerala Volleyball Association and appointed a five-member ad hoc committee. The former players, who have been on a collision course with KVA secretary Nalakath Basheer, have confirmed that VFI president Chaudhary Avdhesh Kumar has written a letter conveying the same.

Former international players S. A. Madhu and R. Rajeev will be the chairman and convener, respectively, and N. C. Chacko, Raj Vinod and Karthikeyan are the other members of the ad hoc committee.
The ad hoc committee will be in charge of the game in Kerala and a letter regarding this will be sent to the Kerala State Sports Council. “We are hopeful that the sports council will take a favorable stance,” said Madhu and star player Tom Joseph.
The immediate goal of the committee is to to conduct the Kerala Volleyball League within the next six months. The committee also plans to stage a meeting of the players in Ernkaulam soon.
