Bengaluru: Kerala blanked Andhra Pradesh 7-0 in the Santosh Trophy South Zone qualifiers at the Bengaluru Football Stadium here on Thursday.

K P Rahul, Sajith Paulose, Afdal and Vibin Thomas found the net for Kerala. Rahul and Afdal scored a brace each.

In the 3rd minute, Sajith opened the scoresheet for Kerala from a great cross by Jithin M S. Ten minutes later, Afdal crossed from the right to Rahul for Kerala's second.

Singampalli Vinod added misery to Andhra as he scored an own goal while attempting to give a back pass.

The half-time score was 3-0.

In the second half, Rahul scored the fourth goal for Kerala from a back pass by Jithin.

Vibin Thomas made it 5-0 in the 53rd minute as he scored a stunning goal from a direct free kick.

Afdal hit the last two nails in Andhra's coffin to make the make it 7-0 at full time.

Kerala and Andhra Pradesh are placed in Group B of the South Zone qualifiers, along with Tamil Nadu.

Kerala, five-time winners and eight-time runners, face Tamil Nadu for a spot in the national round of the Santosh Trophy on Monday, January 22.
