Nadaun (Himachal Prdesh): Kerala and Bengal played out a thrilling tie in their Vijay Hazare Trophy Group B match here on Wednesday.

Bengal, chasing a victory target of 236, ended up with 235/8 in 50 overs. Abhishek Mohan bowled a terrific final over for Kerala as the medium-pacer conceded only five runs. Kanish Seth was run out while going for the second run off the final ball of the match.

Both teams bagged two points each.

Bengal skipper Manoj Tiwary scored an unbeaten 75, but could not take his side home.

Tiwary scored just one four and a six each in his 92-ball knock, but he held the Bengal innings together and added vital partnerships.

Earlier, an unbeaten 100 by opener Jalaj Saxena helped Kerala post 235/6 after electing to bat. His 133-ball knock contained 10 hits to the fence.

Kerala next meet hosts Himachal Pradesh on Friday.

Brief scores: Kerala 235/6 in 50 overs (Jalaj Saxena 100 not out; Manoj Tiwary 2/23. Sayan Ghosh 2/56) tied with Bengal 235/8 in 50 overs (Manoj Tiwary 73 not out; Sandeep Warrier 2/38, K C Akshay 2/45, Abhishek Mohan 2/46).
