Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli is keen on setting an example for others. Kohli, one of the top batsmen of the present generation, has had great success ever since taking over from M.S. Dhoni as Team India skipper. One of the principal factors in Kohli's rise to the top has been his supreme fitness.
The 28-year-old is a fitness freak and is very particular about what he eats and drinks. Recently Kohli turned down a lucrative offer to endorse a soft drink. Kohli told a leading national daily that he rejected the offer since he doesn't consume any soft drinks.
Indian national badminton coach P. Gopichand too had declined a similar multi-crore offer to endorse a soft drink in 2001 soon after he won the prestigious All England title. Soft drinks are banned in the canteen of Gopi's academy in Hyderabad too. However, Gopi has made it a point that he has given a free hand to his wards such as P.V. Sindhu and P. Kashyap in choosing endorsement deals.
