When the sky opens up
In some unusual news - It has just come to light that a space fireball plunged in from the atmosphere, over the Atlantic Ocean earlier this month. This event almost went unnoticed as it burned up 30 kilometers above the ocean surface. In the year 2013, a similar, space object exploded over a town called Chelyabinsk in Russia, and pieces that fell along the way, caused injuries to people. Things bursting into flames from outer space sounds like something straight out of a movie, doesn’t it?! It’s unbelievable that these things actually happen! Apparently though, every year, around 30 smaller space rocks crash into the earth’s surface, but since most of the surface is water, we don’t really get affected by them.
Fun fact for the day
Since we are on the topic of Space : Did you know that the hottest planet in our solar system is Venus? Mercury is the closest planet to the sun, but Venus is still the hottest!
