Kochi Metro extended till Maharajas college

Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the second phase of the Kochi Metro from Jawaharlal Nehru stadium in Kaloor to Maharaja's college. The CM, who flagged off the train from the Nehru stadium, also took a ride on the metro. Till now, only the 13-km stretch from Aluva to Palarivattom was operational.  Nehru stadium, Kaloor junction, Lissie junction, MG Road, and Maharaja's college ground are the new stations on this route.

3 American scientists win Nobel in Medicine

Three American scientists have won the 2017 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for their discoveries of molecular mechanisms controlling the circadian rhythm. The scientists Jeffrey C. Hall, Michael Rosbash and Michael W. Young were able to peek inside the human biological clock and explain its inner workings. 

These discoveries explain how plants, animals, and humans adapt their biological rhythm so that it is synchronized with the Earth's revolutions. 

SpaceX to put humans on Mars by 2024

Have you dreamed of going to Mars? By 2024 it may be possible. SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk made the announcement recently that his company SpaceX was aiming for cargo missions to the Red Planet in 2022 and crew with cargo by 2024.

Catalan La Liga clubs to join region-wide strike

La Liga sides Barcelona, Espanyol and Girona have decided to join the general strike in Catalonia on Tuesday. The strike, called by more than 40 unions and associations in the region under the umbrella organization Table for Democracy, is due to police force fully attempting to stop Catalonia's independence referendum on Sunday, which was deemed illegal by the Spanish government.
