Thiruvananthapuram: A big blaze broke out at a building near Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple here on Sunday early morning.

» According to television reports, a post office and the office of archeology department at the north entrance of Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple suffered heavy damages in the fire

» One of the security personnel at the temple and a Fire and Rescue Service's driver injured during the rescue operations

» Fire and Rescue Service personnel along with the police carried out operations to douse the flames

» Six units of fire engines reached the spot and prevented the fire from spreading to nearby shops

» The fire was first noticed on the CCTV that was installed by the security force at the temple

» The police suspect that the fire started in the wee hours of Sunday from a warehouse near the temple

» The cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained. However, according to unconfirmed reports, a heap of waste dumped near the warehouse would have triggered the fire
