Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala State Budget for the next fiscal will be presented on March 3. The state cabinet on Wednesday decided to recommend to the governor to commence the budget session of the assembly on February 23.

The session will begin with the governor's address and end on March 16. The cabinet has asked a subcommittee to prepare the policy address. The cabinet will approve the speech when it meets on February 15.

The budget assumes significance as it is the state's first budget after the announcement of the demonetization of high-value currencies.
