Kochi: The Malayalam actress, who was abducted and assaulted by a gang in a moving car in Kochi, on Saturday identified four of the accused in the case.

The actress identified Martin, Saleem, Pradeep and Manikandan as those who were involved in the crime in an identification parade held at the Aluva sub jail.

Martin, who was the driver of the car in which the actress was attacked, was arrested soon after the incident while Saleem and Pradeep were arrested later from Coimbatore. Manikandan was caught from a hideout in Palakkad.

The identification parade was held in a specially arranged room inside the jail in the presence of the first class judicial magistrate. A report of the parade will be submitted to the Angamaly Judicial Magistrate Court.

The prime accused, Pulsar Suni, and his accomplice, Vijeesh, were not produced for the identification parade as their visuals have already been widely circulated through TV channels and other media. They were arrested in front of TV cameras when they had arrived to surrender in a court the other day.

Earlier in the day, a court in Aluva sent Pulsar Suni and Vijeesh in police custody until five days. The police, in their plea seeking custody of the accused, said there was conspiracy behind the crime. The police also sought permission to subject the accused to lie-detector tests.
