Bus workers stab students in Kochi for protesting against them The police arrested three workers of 'Mangalya' bus, shuttling between Ernakulam and Poochakkal.

Kochi: In a gruesome act, workers of a private bus on Wednesday stabbed students, who questioned the former for not allowing them to board the vehicle. The incident was at Nettoor on Wednesday.

The nine students of Govt ITI in Maradu were immediately taken to a hospital in Thrippunithura, before being shifted to the General Hospital here.

Following the incident, the police arrested three workers of 'Mangalya' bus, shuttling between Ernakulam and Poochakkal.

According to television reports, the bus had been skipping a stop, which the students of ITI use, for the past several days. Irked by this, a group of students on Wednesday stopped the bus near the stop. This provoked the employees and they attacked the students using a small pair of scissors.

Later, the police said one Abu Thahir, one of the bus employee, started the attack.
