Alappuzha: Good luck is intent on chasing down Manoharan - the 64-year-old has won his second lottery in a span of a-year-and-a-half. A resident of Thakazhi, Manoharam won the first prize of Kerala State Nirmal lottery for the ticket carrying the serial number NX466965. The results came out Friday and he became richer by Rs 70 lakh.
The streak of luck began in February, 2016, when he won the Rs 65 lakh-worth first prize of Pournami lottery. The retired KSEB overseer has been buying lottery tickets from Sreevalsam Lottery Agency in Ambalappuzha for over 12 years now. He took a bus from Thakazhi to Ambalappuzha only to buy lottery tickets from the agency from where he finally seems to have picked up a goodluck charm.
Manoharan had bought all 10 tickets in the series of the prize winning ticket. The icing on the cake is that he wins a jackpot of Rs 10,000 on each of those. The money from last year’s ticket helped him meet some long-pending home expenses, he says. He lives with wife Vanaja, children Sajith and Lakshmi in Padaharam.
