Threat to life, human feces in mail: who’s afraid of women’s commission? Kerala Women’s Commission chairperson M.C. Josephine

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Women’s Commission chairperson said that she had been flooded with intimidating letters ever since the panel filed a case against P.C. George MLA for his remarks against a harassed actress. Someone even mailed a cover containing human feces, M.C. Josephine said.

The commission initiated legal proceedings against the people’s representative from Poonjar after he questioned the veracity of the actress’s complaint that she had been waylaid and sexually assaulted in her car in February. This led to a pubic sparring between George and Josephine.

George stuck to his guns even after the commission pulled him up for his comments in press conferences and televised debates. He dared the commission to hang him if it can and said he would testify before it as and when he deemed convenient.

George had made such statements like how the actress could go to work a day after the attack if she had been treated the way “Nirbhaya” was tortured in Delhi. He also suggested that actor Dileep, accused of conspiring the attack on his colleague, was innocent.
