Kottayam: Outspoken Kerala legislator P.C. George, who has been accusing the police of framing Dileep in the actress attack case and media of biased reporting, has pronounced that the actor was innocent. And he has an evidence to prove that - a letter shot off by the actress, who survived the February 17 attack, to chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

George, who is under fire for his derogatory remarks against the actress, on Tuesday said her letter to the CM against him proved that Dileep was innocent.

"Why should she write to the chief minister otherwise," he asked reporters here. The Poonjar MLA said he stood by his remarks against the actress, adding that he was not wary of her complaint.

Reiterating his stance that Pulsar Suni, the prime accused in the case, was lying, George asked if the police would arrest Pinarayi if the goon were to name the CM.

George's harsh reaction comes a day after the actress wrote a letter to the chief minister, accusing the independent MLA of making derogatory statements against her. In her emotionally charged letter, the actress expressed concerns that George's remarks may influence the public opinion and the court in the case which is subjudice.
