Thiruvananthapuram: A young man recently broke into a house at Puthusserimukku near Kallambalam in Thiruvananthapuram and stole several costly things. Eventually, the house owner lodged a complaint. It could have been just another theft case, had it not been for a Facebook post.
Along with his complaint, Nizam, the house owner, also submitted the CCTV footage of the theft. The thief took away a few luxury items and costly footwear from the house, the complaint said. In turn, Kallambalam SI BK Arun posted the video on Facebook and it went viral. This literally smoked the thief out of his burrow. Remorse dawned not very late.
The thief all of a sudden began to see things in a different light. Then he did something not quite common. He wrote an apology in his own blood, promising to be a good man!
Two days after the Facebook post went viral, the thief returned the things he had stolen along with a note, written in blood, literally.
"I'm a student," the note read. "Please don't destroy my life. If the police catch me, they will book me in all the other theft cases pending in the station," he pleaded.
He also requested Nizam to withdraw the Facebook post. "I'm almost dead with tension, so please withdraw the post," he wrote.
At the end of the story, the house owner is a happy man. He got back all the stolen things without any damage.
