Onam is all about celebrating goodwill and bringing a smile to others. And when children take it up on themselves to do good to others it needs a special mention.
The NSS volunteers among the students of Government Model Girls VHS in Thrissur have been hard at work for the last couple of weeks. And they have been working on holidays and after school to make a bunch of flower vases and other artifacts. The children will sell these products and collect money which will be then used to set up a library for the students in the tribal hamlet of Sasthampovam near Vellikulangara in the district.
Sasthampovam is a remote tribal hamlet and there is just one school in this area. Co -ordinator Dhanya Joseph says that there are students of all ages in this school who do not have access to books. This is where her students will step in. The students were guided by Dhanya Joseph and S Girija.
