Kathakali

Irinjalakuda: Six year old Samudra Sankalp turned an artistic stunner with her impeccable grace and thorough knowledge of the intricate Kathakali 'mudras' at a performance at the Koodal manikyam Temple Sunday. The audience at her debut sat captivated by the grace and finesse of the young Kathakali artist. Samudra has been training under Kalanilayam Manoj for the past one year.

Samudra began learning dance at the age of two, and she surprised everyone when she performed the 'varnam' in Mohiniyattom with utmost perfection at the age of three. Samudra's parents Suresh Babu and Siji are only too proud of their daughter’s artistic talents. She is a class II student at the Don Bosco Central School, Irijilakuda where her father works as an arts teacher.
