Kochi: Twenty one gorgeous models sashayed down the ramp at Kochi Saturday, vying to be crowned the face of the millennium in the first-ever Manoramaonline-Joy Alukkas Miss Millennial 2017.
The show featuring 21 young women was proof to the dictum beauty is not skin deep. Ramp and words, they proved their prowess in all.
The show culminated with south Indian star Tamannaah Bhatia crowning Mariya Francis as the Miss Millennial 2017.
The winner took home Rs 1,00,000 in cash prize.
It's not the color of your skin but what you are that makes you beautiful, the graceful ladies reminded one and all.
The cheers for the curly haired, dusky beauty, Mariya Francis, hailed the beauty of being oneself, stamping yet again that beauty has never been just skin deep.
The position of the first runner-up was bagged by Archana Ravi and the second position went to Nithya Elsa Cherian.
Parvathy Omanakuttan, actress and Miss World runner-up, posed a bombshell of a question asking the 5 finalists what would be a feature they would suggest if Manoramaonline was to design a Miss Millennial app.
While answers ranged from options to speak out untold worries to finding out corrupt politicians, the winner of the day, Mariya had a unique answer “You are much more than your skin tone. So come on, get ready and take a selfie, be Miss Millennial,” she said, to a thunderous round of applause.
Adding a dose of glamour to the event, Singer Sherin Varghese performed to various hit numbers. Choreographer Sreejith from Team Dancity enthralled the audience with his electrifying performance.
If some adventure was missing, it was soon leveled out by a thrilling performance by the D4Dance team.
