We all loved Rock On, which came out in 2008. The narrative was realistic, the story telling was gripping and the music was just awesome. Now, 8 years later, the movie's sequel Rock On 2 has hit the screens.

After watching the first half, our reviewer Anagha Jayan says, “It's a good sequel; good for a 'music movie'."

“The movie stands independent from prequel and has its own way of unfurling fiction, and music along with it. I have liked it so far,” she tells us from the theater.

That's a great start, right?

Once the movie was over, she wrote to us: “'Unite for Shillong' - bringing the harvest loss of Shillong farmers as the cause for the band reunion sounds pretty good, relevant and timely. Though not up to the prequel, it's a wholesome movie, with enough drama, fiction, turn-overs and fight sequences. Music does dominate the screen.”

Rock On 2 retains its main cast - Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Purab Kohli and Prachi Desai. Shraddha Kapoor comes in as the new addition.

Shahana Goswami, Shashank Arora and Kumud Mishra are also part of the cast.

The director is a newcomer - Shujaat Saudagar. It is written by Abhishek Kapoor and Pubali Chaudhari. It was Abhishek who directed Rock On back in 2008.

The movie has music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and all the songs of the movie have made it to the chart-busters.

Marc Koninckx is the movie's cameraman.
