When it comes to director Lijo Jose Pellissery, innovation and experimentation are assured. When he made his first directorial venture Nayakan, it was unique in terms of its making; then came City of God which was much-talked about for it's non-linear narrative pattern.
Amen was probably his best in terms of cast and presentation but his last outing Double Barrel was much-discussed among movie buffs and Lijo was applauded for trying out an experiment with gangster comedy, in quirky style.
Angamaly Diaries is no different. The movie hit the headlines for casting 86 newcomers and for its backdrop of Angamaly.
Ask him about the reason for new faces, Lijo has a clear answer: "In Angamaly Diaries, the hero is the story, and not the people. And casting new faces will give a fresh feeling."
Angamaly Diaries is scripted by actor Chemban Vinod Jose and has been produced by Vijay Babu under the banner of Friday Film House.
The movie released in 95 screens across Kerala.
