Tovino Thomas has etched his position as one of the most sought after stars in Mollywood, thanks to his latest outing Oru Mexican Aparatha that is running to packed houses.
The actor without the 'superstar' tag garnered accolades from his fans and critics alike. Touring across the state, Tovino has also been campaigning for the film.
And two videos of Tovino from these promo trips have gone viral but all for the wrong reasons. In one video, Tovino was seen getting angry at a fan who allegedly pinched him when the star was surrounded by a crowd. A couple of days ago, another video emerged online in which Tovino accused a fan of pushing him.
In no time, posts and trolls criticizing Tovino's 'unruly attitude' were doing rounds on social media and many flayed him for 'being arrogant'.
The actor has now took to Facebook to speak on these incidents.
He wrote the post in Malayalam, which can be roughly translated into this: ''I am an ordinary person just like you who came into the industry with nothing but lots of passion for films. I only wish to do good roles which will be received well by audience. While doing promotions in various theaters and campuses, I could see many people cheering us. But we also had our share of unpleasant moments. And like how any normal person would do, I too reacted. That was not arrogance. Just in case, if anyone got hurt, I would like to apologize. Cinema is an honest medium. Only good cinemas and good characters shall remain with the audience. Time will prove everything.''
