If you thought actor Rahman is still basking in the success of his latest flick Dhruvangal Pathinaaru, you are wrong. The actor is apparently up to something big.
“I am up with a 'big-project,' which will turn out to be a milestone in my career,” Rahman told Onmanorama. “To all Malayalam audience, who have always loved me from the bottom of their hearts, I haven't gone anywhere. I am up with a huge project in Tamil,” he said.
Decoding the storyline of D16
Speaking about the success of his recent movie Dhruvangal Pathinaaru, Rahman said that that it has been a challenge to decode the storyline. “No, this is not an exceptional work or a movie of magic. But I like to do movies of content and I am very selective about it. Dhruvangal Pathinaaru is such a movie,” Rahman said.
“It was a challenging job to decode its storyline. I make out the plot of a movie usually within one or two sittings of script discussion. We sat more than five times to discuss the script of Dhruvangal Pathinaaru,” he remembered.
“I have acted in a number of genres, including crime, thriller, drama, comedy, suspense and many more. But till now, I haven't come across a complicated script like this. I found it very thrilling, especially to find out how it turns out on screen,” he added.
Praising the narrative style adopted by director Karthick Naren, Rahman said the movie need to be watched in theaters to experience the exceptional sound, choreography and directorial tools employed in it.
A young director and a very young crew
“The most interesting part about the movie was its young crew, belonging to the age group of 21-30. Karthick is an exceptional talent. I looked at the story and script rather than the experience and age of the director,” he said.
“The whole crew was well-rehearsed with the script and its requirements. They were experts in what they do. Working in a team where everyone is able to answer any deep question about the project is a totally awesome experience,” Rahman added.
