Why is Kavya Madhavan in Yahoo India's Top 10 list?

Kavya Madhavan has featured in the list of top 10 most searched female celebrities in India. The list, which has been traditionally dominated by Bollywood divas, was brought out by Yahoo India as the year 2017 is on its last lap.

Kavya is undoubtedly one of the finest actresses the Malayalam film industry has produced. She has a huge fan base in Kerala. However, she has been living off the screen since her second marriage with actor Dileep, who is facing a criminal proceedings in the February 17 actress attack case.

She was last seen in acclaimed director Adoor Gopalakrishnan's Pinneyum, which was released in 2016. Dileep is the male lead in that movie.

Kavya was the 9th most searched actress in the list topped by Bollywood sensation Sunny Leone.

Interestingly, Kavya Madhavan is the only South Indian actress in the list.

While some say this indicates her huge fan base, another version is that she figured in the list due to the controversies surrounding her marriage with Dileep and his subsequent arrest in the actress attack case for his alleged involvement in the crime.
