Trolls, abuses, body-shaming comments, judgmental remarks, explicit messages and penis pictures — actresses get almost all of it on social media. While most of them have mastered the art of ignoring such creeps, a few of them turn to the Internet itself to find the justice the real world won’t give them.

And the latest to call out on social media harassment through a public post on Facebook is actress Durga Krishna, who is cast opposite Prithviraj in his upcoming movie, Vimaanam. Sharing a screenshot of the Facebook user who sent her lewd messages, Durga posted thus:

“Hi everyone,

I am Durga Krishna from Calicut. I am one among you, my brothers and sisters. It is very sad to realize that I don’t know how many of you are my real brothers and how many of you are the wolf types – the ones who act as good men in daylight and show their real color in the night. Those wolves will not be able to see whether the prey is their wife, sister, mother, a two-year-old or a 70-year-old. They just want to unload their so-called sexual fantasies through exhibitionism, pictures, videos, and messages. They don’t care for age, relationship, color, ethnicity, religion or anything; it just has to be someone from the opposite sex. That’s it.

I want to share with you all a very disgusting and shameful incident that happened last night. There was a pervert (a screenshot of his Facebook profile is attached here) who hit new levels of low in my message box last night. For your kind information Mr, I am a woman with strong will and have the world’s best brothers and sisters. You can’t make me feel bad, You can’t harass me. I have seen real men — very bold and lovable ones — throughout my career in dance and acting. So I can recognize people like you too. I am not the feminist type. But I have a strong backbone, a very caring family, and the most trusted friends...

I have a small request to all my brothers. We, sisters, know that you all have gone through your adolescence with so many mischievous acts. But if you really think it is your duty to protect your sisters from these psychos, pedophiles, and perverts, please act now. Please take an initiative to submit a collective resolution to Kerala government (To CM sir - the iron man of the state) to take adequate steps to punish such people. Also, a revamp of our education system and more awareness programs from grass-roots level will definitely do miracles. If we can bring in a change today, there will not be these many victims of sexual abuses tomorrow... It’s for future. It’s for my sisters.”
