Perhaps the formation of Women in Cinema Collective (WCC) was the only good thing about the actress attack case, but does everyone think so? Well, certainly not. Actress Swetha Menon on Wednesday said that she never felt the need of such an association.
“I don’t need a WCC to fight my own battle. I can fight mine. I have always raised my voice against injustice. The WCC has just been formed, so let’s see how it will evolve,” she said.
Talking about AMMA, Swetha Menon said that it has always been supportive of her. “AMMA is always there to help artists. But personally, I feel one must take up their own responsibility at times and voice out their views”.
Responding to reports of AMMA boycotting TV programs during Onam, Swetha said, “As far as I know, AMMA has not informed us about any such step. If anything of that sort has happened, we would have known about it. I am not sure what’s the source of those reports.”
