He's Dileep, not Govindachamy: Iqbal Kuttippuram against media trial Iqbal (R) accused the media of tarnishing Dileep's (L) image by making him look like a dreaded criminal

Kottayam: Noted screen writer Iqbal Kuttippuram has come out in support of actor Dileep who is an accused in the actress attack case.

The writer of many super hit movies, who had taken a sabbatical from social media for the past one year, said in a recent Facebook post that, like many, he was also appalled by the news of Dileep’s arrest and wanted him to get punished if found guilty.

Iqbal, however, accused the media of tarnishing the actor's image by making him look like a dreaded criminal. He says, “Dileep is neither a criminal like Pulsar Suni or Nisham nor a notorious rapist like Govindachamy or Ameerul Islam. He is an artist who is greatly loved by Keralites like a brother, son or a dear friend”.

He said that it deeply saddened him to see Dileep being mentally tortured by denying him bail even when the investigation had gone so far and enough evidences have been already collected. Iqbal also hopes for the legal procedures to take its rightful course in the case of Dileep. He concludes the post by saying that if Dileep is proven innocent then society would have committed an unpardonable historic blunder.
