Mahe: Mahe, one of the four districts of the union territory of Pondicherry is all set to make huge strides in the IT map of the country with three major Irish companies readying themselves for expansion.
The companies had inaugurated their new state-of-the-art buildings in October last year in the presence of Brian McElduff, ambassador of Ireland and the Mahe MLA, Dr Ramachandran.
Of the three companies, Contracting Plus has been successfully operating from Mahe for the past 8 years. Morgan McKinley is into its 4th year while Abtran is the latest entrant.
Contracting Plus has 75 employees and is set to expand to a 250-strong company. The Irish ambassador had expressed hope that more companies from Ireland may come over to Mahe.
Michael Dineen, chairman of Contracting Plus, said that the companies will require a mix of experienced and freshers with skills in relevant areas and thereby will attract Keralites working in Indian metros and abroad to come to their homeland.
